Royal Tara Ireland
Tara Hall, the home of Royal Tara China Ireland Limited is situated on what was formerly the family seat of the Joyces - one of the 14 ancient tribes of Galway.
In 1953, the beautiful Georgian style residence was bought and restored by the Galway Chamber of Commerce. It was here that Mr Kerry O'Sullivan first established Royal Tara China. One of the reasons cited for selecting Galway as the ideal location for the factory was the purity of the water available from the nearby river, so essential in the production of Fine Bone China.
Mr O'Sullivan specialised in the production of Royal Tara China tableware and carried on a highly successful business for 24 years.
In 1977 the company was taken over by a dynamic group of Irish businessmen who immediately set about broadening the range of products to include individually boxed gift items as well as collector's limited editions. The new owners policy from the outset was to produce high quality Fine Bone China which would appeal to the discerning buyer, both at home and abroad.
Today, the wisdom of this policy is reflected in the company's thriving export market. It has earned Royal Tara China a reputation for excellent design, craftsmanship and quality that is renowned worldwide.
In 1992 Royal Tara diversified into the design and manufacture of cold cast bronze sculptures, adhering to the same stringent standards of craftsmanship and design.
The skilled craftspeople of Royal Tara are justifiably proud of the superb Fine Bone China and Cold Cast Bronze pieces they create.
This care and commitment is the true history of Royal Tara China and the key to it's successful future.
