 Hygeia Chemicals Ltd is an Irish Company in the business of developing effective and user friendly solutions to the problems that nature throws up.
From the time man ceased to be a hunter and lived instead by what he grew, he has always studied how best the land might yield its produce and at the same time protect and preserve what was sown from defect, disease and decay.
A similar problem confronted Ireland in 1939. Dr Donny Coyle's solution was for the nation to manufacture its own agrochemical products. Hence the establishment of the Irish company, Hygeia.
The improvisation, the innovation and the invention needed then to make the young Irish company a viable and profitable enterprise meant success in the future. From being a household name in Ireland it began to enjoy an international repute. Expansion became inevitable. Agrichem, founded in the UK in 1974, was the trailblazer. Not only did it launch Hygeia's own products, it soon became an international leader in seed treatment technology.
Hygeia and Agrichem have always been customer oriented. Local and national needs are met from world-wide resources. Market dominance is maintained by the excellence of procedures, by quality control, by investment in technology and by care for the environment.
